Gary reported that Craig found the discussions on December 12 helpful.
Craig has visited all three of the elementary schools and they are all going with laptops and carts, keeping their labs until they die and making sure they have wireless connecivity. Centennial is not ordering carts and will be putting their laptops into the classrooms in pods.
1b Previewing Passport to the Internet/ Contact and information Passport to the Internet
The committee looked over the materials offered and decided to preview them between now and January 14.
We will introduce them to the Study Group members and illicit some teachers to preview the materials in their classrooms between January 15 and February 12.
We will request that they give us some informal feedback before we we go to the MECY meeting.
Sharon will send in the preview application to the companybefore Friday, December 19.

members will generate more based on activities they have done - Chris
2cFeedback from application activity at the last meeting- Stephen

Teacher volunteers to preview with their classes
4. We will ask teachers to use a list of possible activities and generate a needs list for each school . Sharon will generate the list from the LwICT Continuum.
5. Videos of 21st century technology infusion
6. Teachers will be asked to bring an activity to share.

4. Divisional Education Plan/ LwICT related
Gary gave us permission to create a Divisional Education Plan/ LwICT related
Stephen will work out the process, timelines and participant list.
5. Conferences
Teachers will not be encouraged to attend the BYTE Conference but we will promote the Riding the Wave Conference in Gimli April 23-24.
6. ICT Innovations Festival
We discussed the idea of an ICT Innovations Festival.
It was felt to be a great idea but that there might not be time for this year.
Some ideas were using this year to plan and dicuss:
what technology would have to be in place to do the sharing online of the projects
how they would be shared
how they would be initiated
student initiatives rather than teacher driven
Our next scheduled meeting is April 9.
We moved the May 13 Study Group meeting to May 12 from 9:00 - 12:00.
